Callaway Fitting Day

Thanks to everyone who attended the Callaway Day last Friday.

We had some very happy members with several finding distance gains of 15+ yards!

We have already had Titleist and Callaway at Abbeydale this year. Mizuno are with us this Friday 5th April, all appointments are booked.

We have PING visiting us later this year – Date to be confirmed.

LYNX Golf will be with us on Friday 10th May

Scotty Cameron are visiting Abbeydale on Friday 14th June

Callaway are back in September.

Sergio Gets Some Lip

If you ever needed a lesson in not jumping the gun and sticking to the rules, Sergio Garcia showed us all what not to do over the weekend.

Playing against Matt Kuchar in the quarter-final of the WGC Match Play Championship, the Spaniard's makeable putt to win the 7th hole finished inches wide of the mark.

But rather than waiting for Kuchar to concede the putt, Garcia took matters into his own hands and it didn't end well. Watch this video to see what happened.

Running On Empty?

If your electric trolley is struggling to make it round 18 holes then it might be time you upgraded its battery. There's been a huge push towards Lithium batteries in recent years as they last longer, charge quicker and are more lightweight than previous Lead Acid equivalents. So, if it's time you change your electric trolley battery, bring your old one in-store and enjoy £25 OFF a brand-new Lithium one.

Check Your Yardages

If you’re wanting to find out your yardages, club head speed and ball speed, then be sure to check out our FlightScope Mevo.

The Mevo is great for checking your distances and can be rented from us to use on the practice ground.

Boa constrict your footwear

I can see clearly now

Bubba Watson, now there’s a man who knows a thing or two about style when it comes to the eyewear department. Oakley's golf-specific sunglasses don't just look great though, they also serve a very useful purpose that you can benefit from too.

Traditional vs Prizm lens

Bubba’s Oakley Targetline shades are fitted with Prizm lens technology. As you can see from the image above, the enhanced colour contrast from standard lens (on the left) to Prizm lens (on the right) is quite remarkable.

This will enable you to see course undulations with greater ease - a particularly useful benefit when it comes to reading your putts on the green.

Spotlight: Callaway Apex (2019) irons

Irons usually get updated every couple of years, so why did it take Callaway over three years to bring a new Apex iron model to market? Well, quite simply, the Apex CF16 was a brilliant iron that took a while to improve upon.

However, the brains at Callaway have done it and what a special option the new Apex CF19 is; not to mention the Apex Pro irons too. Watch this video to find out why this iron has us so excited in the shop.
